Workshop - Dahlia Tuber Planting Saturday, May 18 at 9:30am
Learn how to grow dahlias in this hands-on workshop with Callie Kimball of Freeport Dahlias. We'll discuss soil preparation and temperatures, the sunlight and water needs of dahlias, how and when to stake your plants, and natural pest deterrents. Bring your curiosity and your questions! Each person will be given three tubers to take home and plant, as well as written instructions. The workshop should take about an hour, maybe a little longer if there are a lot of questions.
The workshop is limited to 6 people for individual attention. In the event of rain, the workshop will be held indoors with the windows open.
